Your home exercise program includes access to a website with videos demonstrating each exercise. In order for your pet to progress in rehabilitation, it is important to do these exercises on days when they are not attending a rehabilitation session. Home exercises need to gradually increase in repetition and duration. Watch for signs of fatigue (muscle spasm, heavy panting, or resisting the exercise).
Appointments:
Once you have arrived for your scheduled appointment, please come right in or give us a call (256-837-9700), and a member of the rehabilitation therapy staff will get your pet. If you are running late, please let us know, if you are 15 minutes or later we may have to reschedule your appointment. This is due to the amount of therapy treatments each patient receives. When running late we are not able to prevent the next appointment from being seen late. If you plan to leave during the appointment, please plan to be back within the 30-45 minute appointment time. Patients left for more than 15 minutes past the pickup time will be charged a fee of $21.29. If you feel you cannot make your scheduled appointment, please give us a call to get it rescheduled. Appointments canceled within 24 hours, or appointments missed the day of will be charged the rehabilitation appointment costs for that day (costs may vary depending on the type of reserved appointment).
Drop Off:
Please note drop off appointments will need to be admitted into the clinic between the hours of 7:00 am - 8:00 am. The fee for dropping off is $21.29. If you arrive past 8:00 am, we may have to reschedule your appointment or you may come back for a scheduled appointment IF one is available. Generally, for the first few therapy sessions anticipate a later pick up time as your pet needs longer rest times between sessions to avoid fatigue. Please leave a current contact phone number with our receptionist so we can call or text you when your pet is ready for pick up. After their first therapy session visit, your pet’s therapy assistant will review the session, any homework, and answer any questions that you may have.
