What is Rehabilitation for pets?

Canine Rehabilitation is very similar to physical therapy for people. It is most prescribed for a variety of conditions. It helps each pet achieve their best when dealing with types of arthritis, mobility limitations due to sport injuries, injuries in general from ligament to bone, neurological conditions, dysplasia of the hips and elbows, degenerative neurological conditions, Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), Degenerative Myelopathy, and so many more conditions we can’t list. Otherwise our page will be many pages.

We offer many modalities (treatments) of which all are non-invasive alternative to traditional treatments. Pets experience minimal discomfort during sessions and we work hard to keep it Fear Free by making it fun and providing lots of treats!

We are here to help find the best treatment your pet needs to help them get back their mobility. Please give us a call and we will get you scheduled in for a Rehabilitation Consultation with our DVM Specialist.

How can we help your pet and What do we offer?

We use many types of modalities (treatments) to give your pet the best chance at living a healthy, happy life. Our treatments focus on:

  • Building muscle, increase strength and stamina
  • Gain muscle memory to help increase mobility
  • Increase range of motion and balance
  • Increase cell reproduction to accelerate healing in soft tissue and bone and to help cells repair themselves.
  • Increase circulation (Vasodilation) which increases blood flow to bring in oxygen and cells involved in the healing process
  • Decrease pain and inflammation outside of medication use. One of the ways we do this is by decreasing tissue chemicals that stimulate pain and by affecting nerve conduction, and help with muscle relaxation due to parts of the body that are over compensating.
  • Increase quality of life and bring back their mobility.
  • Regenerate and improve nerve function to help pet recover from neurological conditions or nerve injuries.

Some of our modalities include:

  • Underwater treadmill
  • Physiotherapy from movement to stretches
  • Laser Light Therapy
  • Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (E-stim) Therapy
  • Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Treatment
  • ASSIS Loop
  • Custom Exercise plans to continue while your pet is at home

We also carry a variety of medications and devices that can be taken home to help support your pet during therapy and at home care.
